Role: Stores and Despatch Manager

Overview

2fawcett recruitment have an exciting opportunity for an experienced stores operative to join a rapidly growing owner lead business based in the Barnsley area. The successful candidate will take ownership of the stores and support the operations team with coordinating fleets, checking equipment, efficiently loading the vehicles for their daily jobs and managing and maintaining the stores.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with a fast paced role and working both alone and part of a team. If you are health and safety focused and have experience working with chemicals or dangerous goods this could be the role for you.

Responsibilities of the Stores and Despatch Manager

• Logging all compliance paperwork for equipment and fleet
• Coordinating on site staffs daily equipment including equipment checks to ensure effective schedules maintained to carry out works
• Hiring and off hiring tools and equipment
• material movement and management working with Customers and clients
• Completing vehicle checks of fleet
• PAT Testing equipment
• Working closely with the purchaser to ensure successful ordering of new equipment when needed and raising purchases with internal department
• Organisation and maintenance of stores maintaining cleanliness
• Liase and work with intenal departments to report and manage where necessary performance or quality related shortfalls

Requirements of the Stores and Despatch Manager

• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Experience within a stores/ despatch and transport sector essential
• Asbestos Awareness Desirable
• Comfortable with manual aspects of the role
• flexibility on schedules to meet business requirements when needed
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
