Salary: £24,000 – £32,000 depending on experience

Role Overview

2fawcett have a great opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant to join a Manufacturing business in Rotherham. The Purchasing Assistant must have experience in a similar position and will play a vital role in supporting the procurement team to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of materials and supplies.

This role will be an exciting, varied and fast paced role and would be well suited for you if you have Purchasing experience and a background of either finance or administration and have excellent Excel Skills

Role Responsibilities

– Strategically planning, executing, and expediting procurement activities with precision and efficiency
– Creating and managing purchase orders to facilitate seamless transactions
– Monitoring inventory levels, optimizing budgets, and ensuring effective stock management
– Overseeing order book maintenance, scheduling, and coordination to meet operational requirements
– Collaborating cross-functionally to streamline processes and enhance communication between departments
– Maintaining compliance with Commodity/Import codes and regulations
– Monitoring and managing quotas to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency
– Conducting reconciliation of Deferment accounts to maintain financial accuracy
– Providing regular reports and updates to the Group on procurement activities
– Administering import documentation and coordinating with clearing agents for smooth customs clearance
– Utilizing spreadsheet tools for data analysis, reporting, and decision-making support
– Managing and updating Operating Systems to ensure optimal performance and functionality
– Handling container bookings and logistics with attention to detail and timeliness
– Performing various administrative tasks to support operational efficiency and organizational effectivenes

  • You have previous experience of Supply Chain/ Purchasing within the  manufacturing, market.

  • Excellent excel skills (vlookup, sumif , pivot table at a minimum)
