Overview of the Production Scheduler

2fawcett are recruiting for a Production Scheduler for a Heavy Engineering Company based South Yorkshire.

This is an exciting role to join a company with brilliant staff retention and industry reputation.

You will report into the Purchasing manager and provide key planning support

The ideal candidate will come from a heavy metal background and have a strong ERP System knowledge and be very organised.

The successful candidate will develop, implement, and oversee the Scheduling and planning of orders to production.

Responsibilities of the Production Scheduler

  • Schedule and plan orders to production using ERP software (Orchestrate)
  • Act as a liaison between the production team and customers, ensuring excellent communication and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage works orders, ensuring they are organized and prioritized effectively.
  • Oversee order and delivery processes, ensuring they are routed efficiently and delivered on time.
  • Forecast delivery schedules and communicate any potential delays to relevant stakeholders.
  • Liaise with purchasing department to ensure necessary materials are available for production.
  • Ensure all subcontractor details are accurately inputted into the system.
  • Schedule and plan works orders in accordance with production requirements.
  • Manage time sheets and ensure they are accurately sorted and submitted.

Requirements of the Production Scheduler

  • Production and Processing experience Knowledge of raw materials, production processes.
  • Ability to interact well with internal and external customers.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience in purchasing and subcontractor management is a plus.
  • Proficient use of computer systems and software applications.
  • In depth knowledge of ERP or MRP software preferred.
