Overview of the Mechanical Design Engineer

2fawcett are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer based in Nottingham. In this role you will be working in a team of experienced Mechanical design engineers. You will be building on your existing skills and furthering your professional career.

The candidate will be working with our team of building engineers and technicians to work on a wide range of projects. Delivering services from feasibility, inception through to detailed designs.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer

• Liaise professionally with clients, professional teams, contractors and staff of all levels
• Be responsible for the delivery of projects leading small mixed discipline team
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current industry regulatory and design standards
• Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff and apprentices providing clear guidance and direction.
• Assist with the setting of design strategy
• QA documents, design, drawings prior to issue
• Attend client, design team and project meetings
• Undertake feasibility studies and surveys
• Preparing load calculations and applying for utility connections
• Production of detailed mechanical services design
• Undertaking sub-contractor design drawing and technical submission reviews
• Undertaking site quality and legislative inspections and prepare associated reports
• Coordinating design with colleagues from other disciplines
• Referring to industry design guides, British Standards and Building Regulations

Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer

• Degree qualified or equivalent
• Similar type role
• Proficient industry software knowledge
• Have a full uk Driving Licence
