Salary: Salaried FROM £40,000-£50,000 (Dependant on experience)CIRCA £50,000+ Adding Overtime Hours. Contracted to standard 40 hours a week, where additional hours are paid as Time 1/2 . AVG Salaries £45-£60,000 current fitters.

Hours: Sociable hours starting from 06.30AM-07.30AM finishing at around 16.00PM-17.00PM

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of plant machinery, lorries, and pavers, including but not limited to HGVs, sweepers, combination jetting units, hot box lorries, and grab lorries.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues efficiently and implement effective solutions to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Ensure that all maintenance and repair work is carried out to a high standard and within specified deadlines.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to maximize efficiency and productivity in the workshop.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in work areas, promoting a safe and organized workspace.
  • Demonstrate proven experience as a fitter, preferably in a similar role, with expertise in maintaining and repairing plant machinery, lorries, and pavers.
  • Showcase strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail in diagnosing and addressing mechanical issues.
  • Exhibit the ability to work well in a team environment, fostering collaboration and teamwork.
  • Uphold clean and tidy work habits to ensure efficient workflow and safety.
  • Be available for a 40-hour workweek with flexibility for overtime as needed and willingness to be on call when required.
