Role: Group Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager

Location: Leeds (Head Office)

Hours: Monday-Friday Full Time(8am-5pm)


2fawett have an exciting opportunity to work with an award-winning company as their group purchasing and supply chain manager within the automotive sector.

Are you an experienced Purchasing Manager looking for a new challenge and would like to be able to contribute to the success of a growing distribution company? You will play a pivotal role in driving strategic and operational supply chain excellence, driving cost savings and efficiencies to support the growth and ambitions of the company.

You will be supporting a team to develop and execute supply chain operations and provide commercial insights and be a keen problem solver.

The role encompasses sourcing, purchasing, ordering & inventory management, logistics (overseas imports/exports) and supply (inbound and outbound). And you will be implementing strategic supply chain initiatives as well as managing supply chain operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods from sourcing to delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Being the main point of contact for key supplier relationships, you would be tasked with forging and sustaining relationships with old and new suppliers, leveraging industry knowledge and negotiation skills to secure favourable terms and conditions. Monitor supplier performance and case managing performance related issues, reporting key risks and opportunities to help maintain and grow the business.

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the Supply Chain / Purchasing function achieving maximum productivity with the established SLAs and KPIs being met, whilst ensuring compliance with the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with new and existing suppliers levering industry knowledge and negotiation skills to negotiate new prices and terms.
  • Motivate and train your team to monitor supplier performances and grow business opportunities.
  • Accountability for the day-to-day aspects of the purchasing departments
  • Negotiate pricing with global and local freight forwarders & supplier
  • Control purchasing department budgets
  • Involvement with the purchasing and sales forecasting & planning process
  • Arrange and contribute to courses
  • Develop and implement purchasing policies, and procedures
  • Be heavily involved with stock control, stock takes & audits

Key Competencies and Attributes

Understanding of the automotive industry (preferred)

Proven and demonstrated experience within

Excellent communication skills

Strong Leadership and Management qualities

Strategic thinking

Extensive ERP experience
