Overview of the Graduate Engineer

2fawcett are recruiting for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer based in Sheffield. This role has an ASAP start so we are looking to speak to candidates who have already graduated!

This is an exciting role to work for an expanding company. You will be responsible for Design, product Configuration & CAD Drawings to the client and operations teams. 

Responsibilities:

  • CAD Drawings- Produce layouts and elevations to prove schemes work.
  • Produce erection and dismantle schemes for the operations teams to form part of the method statements.
  • Produce other miscellaneous drawings.
  • Base loads- Provide loading information to customer’s temporary works department to enable them to correctly design crane bases.
  • Configuration Sheets- Check information on contract sheets issued against the base load information to create a configuration sheet for the tower crane to support the tower build.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Collaborate with customer to regularly communicate and update on operations.
  • Develop BIM Strategies for clients and creating of 3D product elements
  • Support with and create plans to resolve operational challenges.
  • Have an understanding of the tasks in an operational sense.
  • Ensure/check all job related paperwork is returned and correct.
  • Ensuring materials and parts which are required for fabrication such as elements/parts, bolts for collars, ties, spigots and grillage connections are adequate and fit for purpose
  • Collaborate with customer to regularly communicate and update on operations.
  • Carry out on site visits
  • All returned mobile/tower crane foundation/tower crane tie forms are returned & correct.
  • Ensure/check all job related paperwork is returned and correct.
  • Support operation managers.
  • Contribute in the update of Risk assessment and method statements.
  • Contribute in the update of the safe working procedures.

  • Maintain, or oversee the maintenance, of equipment, accessories, vehicles and tools including any necessary calibration of instruments
