Are you an experienced Financial Controller looking for a new challenge in a dynamic SME environment? We have an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified professional to join our client’s team and lead the financial operations across several business entities.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Controller:

  • Managing the finance departments of 3 entities, ensuring efficient and accurate financial operations.
  • Supervising a team of 5 staff members, providing leadership and guidance to optimise performance.
  • Production of management accounts and financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Liaising with auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Overseeing VAT submissions and ensuring adherence to tax regulations.
  • Evaluating and managing financial risk, implementing internal controls to mitigate potential issues.
  • Publishing and presenting financial statements and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Analysing financial data and forecasting revenue to support strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinating budgeting processes and monitoring expenditure to ensure alignment with financial goals.
  • Overseeing the payroll processing and issuing payments accurately and on time.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller / Accountant, ideally within an SME environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and MS Office suite.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
