2fawcett are working with a manufacturing business located in Barnsley, who are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join the team!

The Role & Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant

  • Maintaining all purchase ledger accounts
  • Addressing queries
  • Managing open cash
  • Reconciling statements
  • Coding purchase ledger invoices
  • Sending invoices for authorisation
  • Assisting with month-end close-down processes
  • Posting invoices to the ledger and file appropriately
  • Filing and balancing supplier statements
  • Paying suppliers and entering payments
  • Matching invoices with delivery tickets
  • Balancing invoices to receipts audit trail
  • Liaising with purchasing regarding any price or delivery queries
  • Daily banking and reconciliation
  • VAT returns

Requirements of the Accounts Assistant

  • Good IT Skills including Excel
  • Previous experience in a similar role performing similar duties
  • Knowledge of accounting software and basic accounting principles

This role is full time office based. ASAP start available.
