Part-time Accounts Administrator

2fawcett are recruiting an experienced Accounts Administrator to join our client’s Finance Team on a part-time basis. The role has become available due to an internal promotion, and you will work closely with our friendly Finance Manager. You will support the business in sales/purchase ledger functions and carry out related tasks as required by the team.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Administrator

Sales Ledger Duties:

  • Manage all customer accounts, ensuring monthly invoices are processed and distributed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all invoices are posted with the correct details, including date, nominal codes, and site department codes.
  • Resolve customer queries effectively by investigating invoices/timesheets and liaising with the Operations team.
  • Perform daily bank account imports and reconciliations.
  • Organise customer remittance advice and keep all customer accounts up to date within Sage.
  • Conduct persistent credit control by emailing statements and chasing clients with overdue balances via telephone.
  • Regularly follow up on clients with old or large balances.


Purchase Ledger Duties:

  • Manage the purchase order process, including issuing PO forms to the Business Support Manager and matching supplier invoices to POs within Sage.
  • Organise a monthly payment run by reviewing all supplier accounts to determine which invoices are due for payment and approved.
  • Regularly reconcile the company’s main bank account in Sage against all supplier accounts.
  • Enter approved supplier invoices onto Sage promptly.
  • Manage employee expenses payments.
    Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified on supplier invoices.
  • Manage petty cash.
  • Reconcile supplier statements.

Requirements of the Accounts Administrator

  • AAT qualifications preferred but not essential
  • Experience juggling both purchase and sales ledger in a busy finance team
  • Proficiency with Sage 200 accounting software
