2fawcett Infrastructure & Construction are pleased to be partnering with a leading principal contractor in their search for a Works Delivery Manager / Contracts Manager to lead the safe and efficient delivery of a significant devegetation and fencing framework and associated works.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual, who can drive delivery, lead high-performing site teams and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
The Role:
You will take ownership of a geographical region, ensuring the successful planning, mobilisation and execution of devegetation and fencing activities.
Working closely with planning, commercial and technical teams, you will oversee operational performance, manage programme risks, provide accurate forecasting and ensure delivery targets are consistently achieved.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced rail environment and enjoys taking ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily and weekly operational delivery plans to ensure programme commitments are achieved
- Ensure the correct resources, plant, equipment and logistics are in place for all planned works
- Monitor programme performance and implement recovery plans where required
- Produce accurate delivery forecasts and management reports.
- Work closely with commercial teams to support applications for payment and revenue forecasting
- Identify operational and commercial risks, implementing mitigation strategies where necessary
- Drive productivity, resource utilisation and operational efficiency
- Lead, coach and develop site teams, promoting a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in a Works Delivery Manager, Delivery Manager, Operations Manager or Project Manager role within the rail industry
- At least five years’ experience delivering operational rail projects, ideally civils biased
- Experience managing frameworks and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to forecast delivery performance and manage budgets
- Experience producing management reports and presenting performance updates to senior stakeholders
- Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the confidence to make decisions in a fast-moving operational environment
- Knowledge of Network Rail standards and NEC4 contracts
- Degree or equivalent industry experience.
