Post Title: Warehouse Manager
We are looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced warehouse manager who is familiar with Warehouse and stock management systems. We are a well-established company who are looking to invest in developing their warehousing operation on a substantial scale. The ideal candidate will be someone looking for a challenge; and is ready to take the key role in running our new site in Bradford. We are looking to recruit someone with a proven track record of managing a busy, fast paced warehouse, as well as strong leadership and problem-solving skills. The Warehouse Manager will have overall responsibility of Staff Management, inventory control, warehouse Health & Safety, and receipt, storage and despatch of a wide range of goods.
HOURS OF WORK Total 45 hours a week to be worked between Mon-Friday. (The candidate would initially need to vary start & finish times between the above hours; in order to understand and organise the site-specific operation. Thereafter a 45 hour week can be set between 8am to 5pm, or as necessary to completing job responsibility.
REPORTING TO: Operations Director
Duties and Responsibilities
Staff supervision and rota scheduling
- Take responsibility for ensuring we provide a quality customer orientated service.
- Take responsibility in staff performance management and day-to-day supervision.
- To supervise and guide staff where appropriate and line manage according to company policy and management decisions.
- To identify training needs, and manage a training programme for staff development.
- To prepare and present reports of findings and make recommendations for remedial action where appropriate.
- To plan and coordinate duty, break and lunch rota including weekend rota
- Take formal staff review annually or as directed and report to line manager
- Organise workload of other team members.
- Coordinate the Warehousing function, on issues of stock replenishment, stock inwards, staffing etc.
- To assist with grievance, capability and grievance issues after seeking advice from Head Office HR.
- Ensure adequate cover is available in the warehouse at all times.
- Effective running of Warehouse Department
- Liaise with supervisor and managers for effective running of warehouse through usage of financial data, reports and marketing data.
- To take responsibility and ensure adequate stock levels is maintained that do not fall below the minimum levels.
- Ensure the warehouse looks presentable at all times.
- Ensure Health and Safety issues are strictly adhered to.
- Assist in promotion activities.
- Manage sales activities and customer queries.
- Reporting to management on a regular basis.
- Ensure our frozen and fresh products are dealt appropriately and in accordance with the company policy.
- Take responsibility and ensure goods are rotated at regular intervals so that they do not exceed its sell by date.
- Ensure the freezers are securely locked during closing hours to avoid losses or damage to the products.
- Maintain adequate stock of fresh produce and limit losses due to wastage.
- Organise and take responsibility for opening and closing procedures.
Responsible for stock control / stock replenishment
- To maintain an adequate stock recording system that can provide stock management details that will be required by supervisor / management.
- To take responsibility of stock inventory and stock security.
- To liaise with appropriate departments on stock replenishment within agreed timescales and lead-times.
- To monitor stock movement on a regular basis and report any anomalies.
- To ensure adequate stock is available for sale and take responsibility for stock replenishment in the cash and carry.
- Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained to meet customer demand.
- Responsible for Stock inwards and outwards
- Ensure security of stock sold and is in the custody of the company.
- Ensure all policies and audit procedures are adhered to that relate to sales and returned goods.
- Ensure all products are checked and verified before leaving the premises.
- Credit notes raised will be in accordance with the company policy.
- Identify and advice management on appropriate product locations.
- Management of damaged and returned goods.
- Management and Audit policies relating to security of goods, Goods inwards and outwards are adhered to.
- Responsible for stock in and outwards in the warehouse with assistance of the WMS.
- Ensure appropriate labelling is displayed on each product that can identify product, quantity and location.
Miscellaneous
- Take reasonable care of the health and safety of self, other person and resources whilst at work.
- To be proactive in developing strategy and policies that is for the betterment of the company.
- To direct staff in accordance with company policies and management decisions and ensure they are adhered to.
- Ensure self and staff adhere to company policy on uniform/PPE.
- Willing to learn new skills that maybe required for the post.
- To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature, as may be determined by the post holder’s supervisor from time to time.
- Due to the role, it is envisaged that you may be required to work on normally non-working days or additional hours.
