Warehouse/Dispatch Manager
Salary: £41,600 per annum (£800 per week)
Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The Role
An established food manufacturing and distribution business is seeking an experienced Warehouse/Dispatch Manager to lead its day-to-day warehouse and dispatch operations.
You will be responsible for ensuring customer orders are prepared, loaded and dispatched accurately and on time. You will lead the Warehouse and Dispatch Team while maintaining high standards of stock control, hygiene, Health and Safety and customer service.
This is a key operational management position requiring a hands-on, organised and proactive individual who can manage competing priorities in a busy working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the Warehouse and Dispatch departments.
- Lead, manage, train and support the Warehouse and Dispatch Team.
- Allocate daily workloads and ensure employees understand their responsibilities.
- Ensure customer orders are picked, checked, loaded and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Ensure vehicles are loaded safely, accurately and hygienically.
- Work closely with the Sales and Dispatch Teams to meet customer requirements.
- Oversee warehouse stock levels, stock checks and inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
- Oversee transport arrangements and work closely with the Warehouse and Dispatch Coordinator.
- Ensure company vehicles, equipment and machinery are properly maintained.
- Arrange and monitor vehicle MOTs, servicing and repairs.
- Maintain accurate warehouse, dispatch, transport and vehicle records.
- Ensure all warehouse and dispatch paperwork is completed accurately.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the Warehouse and Dispatch areas.
- Ensure Health and Safety procedures and company policies are followed.
- Identify employee training requirements and ensure appropriate training is completed.
- Resolve stock, loading, transport and dispatch issues quickly and effectively.
- Work closely with other departments to support the smooth running of the wider operation.
- Monitor team performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties required to support the business.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate should have:
- Previous experience in warehouse, dispatch, logistics or distribution operations.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Experience leading, training and supporting a team.
- Good knowledge of stock control and inventory management.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- A good understanding of workplace Health and Safety requirements.
- The ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Good administrative and record-keeping skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A practical and effective approach to problem-solving.
- Confidence working with other departments, suppliers and transport providers.
- Basic IT skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office and operational systems.
Experience within food manufacturing, food distribution or another hygiene-controlled environment would be advantageous.
