Overview:

We’re currently seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our client’s team in Nottingham. In this fast-paced role, you’ll be responsible for planning and coordinating daily transport operations to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods. You’ll work closely with drivers, warehouse staff, and external partners to maintain high service levels and meet operational targets.

Role & Responsibilities of the Transport Planner:

• Plan and schedule vehicle routes and driver assignments
• Monitor live transport activity and address issues as they arise
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation and company procedures
• Liaise with customers and internal teams to manage expectations and service levels
• Maintain accurate records and reporting
• Planning of material movements between subcontractors and collections from Suppliers
• Communicates progress to internal and external customers
• Raising despatch notes and creating cert packs
• Sales order invoicing
• Discrepancy investigation

Requirements of the Transport Planner:

• Previous despatch/transport experience essential
• IT literate (MS Office + TMS)
• Able to work on own initiative with minimum of supervision
• Good communication skills
• Numerate and Literate
• Attention to detail
• Well organised approach
