Salary: £28,000 – £35,000+ (Dependent on Experience) + Overtime & Benefits
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Shift: Day Shift (Monday to Friday)

 

We are seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join a well-established, precision engineering company based in Sutton in Ashfield. If you have a strong background in toolmaking and enjoy working with high-precision components, this is an excellent opportunity to join a team that is committed to quality and continuous improvement.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture, repair, and modify tools, jigs, and fixtures to high-precision specifications
  • Operate manual and CNC machinery, including lathes, mills, and grinders
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models to create tools and components
  • Conduct thorough quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as micrometres and callipers
  • Maintain tools and machinery to ensure optimal performance
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to enhance tooling processes and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any tool-related issues to minimize downtime in production

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Toolmaker within a precision engineering environment
  • Strong knowledge and experience with manual machining and CNC equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and CAD models
  • Skilled in using a range of precision measuring instruments
  • In-depth understanding of materials and their machining properties
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to work under pressure
