Technician / Lead Technician – Civils & Construction

Location: East Midlands base
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) + overtime + benefits

An established and growing civil engineering and construction contractor is looking to recruit Technicians and Lead Technicians to support the delivery of site-based projects across the UK.

These roles offer long-term stability, structured training and clear progression within a well-established business.

The Role

You will work on live construction and infrastructure sites, supporting or leading site-based activities depending on experience. This is a hands-on role involving practical site work, adherence to safety standards and close collaboration with site teams.

Lead Technicians will take additional responsibility for supervising small teams and coordinating site activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out site-based works in line with project requirements
  • Support or lead site activities and work packages
  • Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Work effectively with supervisors, site teams and subcontractors
  • Operate tools and equipment safely
  • Record site activities and report progress or issues
  • Support and mentor junior staff (Lead Technician level)
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism

About You

  • Experience working on live construction or civils sites
  • Reliable, safety-conscious and hardworking
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in varied site environments
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Willing to travel nationwide and work flexible hours when required

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • CSCS card (or willingness to obtain)
  • Background in civils, construction, infrastructure or a related trade
  • Manual handling capability
  • Ability to follow drawings, scopes and site instructions
