2fawcett Recruitment are supporting a manufacturing client in hiring a Technical Engineer to oversee the design, production, and certification of lighting columns and highway infrastructure products. You will ensure compliance with structural and safety standards while providing technical expertise across teams and external stakeholders.
Pay: £36,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
Technical Engineer – The Role
- Provide technical guidance on the design, manufacture, and testing of lighting columns and brackets
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and structural calculations
- Ensure compliance with structural, welding, and product standards
- Assist with UKCA / CE marking and performance documentation
- Liaise with certification bodies and support tender and contract stages
Technical Engineer – Requirements
- Degree / HNC / HND in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering
- Welding or fabrication qualifications, with knowledge of WPS / WPQR documentation
- Experience with structural steel or similar engineered products
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and calculations
- Understanding of compliance and corrosion protection within manufacturing
