Hours: 8:00am – 5:30pm, with Saturday mornings as required

 

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager to join a growing manufacturing and logistics operation based in Manchester.

This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of two busy production sites, overseeing production, logistics, quality, maintenance, health & safety, environmental compliance, and team performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, maintaining high standards, and supporting the continued growth of the business.

The ideal candidate will have experience within a manufacturing, production, waste, recycling, chemical, or industrial environment and be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

 

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Site Manager, Operations Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Applications are also welcomed from ambitious Team Leaders or Supervisors looking to take the next step in their career.
  • Experience within manufacturing, production, waste, recycling, chemical or industrial environments.
  • Transport or logistics experience would be advantageous.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.
  • Strong knowledge of SHEQ, Health & Safety and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership and responsibility for two production sites.
  • Manage and supervise multiple production departments and operational teams.
  • Ensure daily production targets and operational KPIs are achieved.
  • Coordinate communication between office and production teams to ensure work schedules and priorities are clearly understood.
  • Ensure customer orders are completed on time and loaded for dispatch.
  • Manage recruitment, training, development and staffing levels.
  • Maintain quality standards and ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in line with procedures.
  • Produce monthly production reports and site traffic plans.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and ensure machinery and equipment are maintained and operating effectively.
  • Support and implement preventative maintenance plans.
  • Manage stock levels, supplies and deliveries to support production requirements.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across both sites.
  • Take overall responsibility for site SHEQ performance.
  • Troubleshoot minor site and equipment issues and coordinate external contractors when required.
  • Conduct site audits and ensure KPI targets are consistently achieved.
  • Monitor environmental compliance and carry out daily checks.
  • Ensure both sites remain safe, compliant and maintained to a high standard.
