Sales Office Administrator

2fawcett Recruitment are recruiting for a confident and commercially minded Sales Office Administrator to join a busy and growing manufacturing business based in Nottingham.

This is much more than a traditional order-processing position. You will manage customer requirements from initial enquiry and quotation through to production and delivery, working closely with customers, suppliers, the sales team and production.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer enquiries quickly and professionally
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with customers
  • Prepare quotations using internal costing and pricing systems
  • Work with the sales team to help convert enquiries into orders
  • Follow up quotations and customer requirements
  • Accurately process sales orders onto the internal system
  • Check pricing, quantities, specifications, artwork and delivery information
  • Send order acknowledgements and keep customers updated
  • Purchase materials required for customer orders
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability and lead times
  • Identify potential supply-chain issues and source alternative solutions
  • Monitor live orders throughout the production process
  • Work closely with production to communicate priorities and deadlines
  • Coordinate urgent and time-sensitive orders
  • Resolve customer, supplier and production issues efficiently
  • Identify opportunities to support and grow existing customer accounts

Requirements

  • Previous experience within sales administration, order processing, customer service, purchasing or a similar role
  • Experience within manufacturing, print, packaging, engineering or distribution would be advantageous
  • Confident communicating with customers, suppliers and internal departments
  • Excellent organisation and the ability to manage several priorities at once
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when checking pricing and specifications
  • Commercially aware with an understanding of how purchasing and customer service affect profitability
  • Proactive, positive and solutions focused
  • Comfortable working within a busy, high-energy environment
  • Able to take ownership rather than simply passing problems on
  • Strong IT and administration skills

The business is looking to move quickly, so immediate availability and the ability to interview at short notice would be highly desirable.
