Sales & Finance Administrator
Location: Nottingham, NG12 (office based)
Salary: £28,000 – £29,000

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an organised and proactive Sales & Finance Administrator to join a growing and fast-paced business, within the food sector.

This is a varied role that combines finance administration, credit control, customer service, sales support, and lead generation. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting daily business operations while helping to drive growth and maintain excellent customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing supplier invoices and customer billing
  • Maintaining accurate financial records, spreadsheets, and account information
  • Monitoring customer accounts and proactively chasing outstanding payments
  • Managing credit control activities and maintaining payment records
  • Acting as a key point of contact for customers and suppliers
  • Handling customer enquiries, orders, and delivery updates
  • Maintaining customer databases and administrative systems
  • Researching and identifying potential new business opportunities
  • Making outbound calls to prospective customers and qualifying leads
  • Booking appointments and supporting the sales team with lead generation activities
  • Working with accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft 365
  • Supporting marketing activities and internal business processes

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicating over the phone and via email
  • Comfortable managing both finance administration and customer-facing activities
  • Able to prioritise and multitask in a busy environment
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to take ownership of their workload
  • A strong team player with a flexible approach
  • Experienced in administration, finance support, or sales support roles

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in finance administration, accounts administration, credit control, sales administration, or office administration
  • Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
  • Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Desirable Experience
  • Experience within wholesale, distribution, logistics, or food service sectors
  • Experience working within an SME environment
  • Exposure to both finance and sales support functions
