Sales & Finance Administrator
Location: Nottingham, NG12 (office based)
Salary: £28,000 – £29,000
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an organised and proactive Sales & Finance Administrator to join a growing and fast-paced business, within the food sector.
This is a varied role that combines finance administration, credit control, customer service, sales support, and lead generation. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting daily business operations while helping to drive growth and maintain excellent customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing supplier invoices and customer billing
- Maintaining accurate financial records, spreadsheets, and account information
- Monitoring customer accounts and proactively chasing outstanding payments
- Managing credit control activities and maintaining payment records
- Acting as a key point of contact for customers and suppliers
- Handling customer enquiries, orders, and delivery updates
- Maintaining customer databases and administrative systems
- Researching and identifying potential new business opportunities
- Making outbound calls to prospective customers and qualifying leads
- Booking appointments and supporting the sales team with lead generation activities
- Working with accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft 365
- Supporting marketing activities and internal business processes
We’re looking for someone who is:

- Confident communicating over the phone and via email
- Comfortable managing both finance administration and customer-facing activities
- Able to prioritise and multitask in a busy environment
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to take ownership of their workload
- A strong team player with a flexible approach
- Experienced in administration, finance support, or sales support roles
Essential Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in finance administration, accounts administration, credit control, sales administration, or office administration
- Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
- Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Confident telephone manner
- Desirable Experience
- Experience within wholesale, distribution, logistics, or food service sectors
- Experience working within an SME environment
- Exposure to both finance and sales support functions
