Quality Controller
Location: Worksop (with occasional site travel as required)

2fawcett Recruitment are working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business who are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Controller to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional with experience within manufacturing, fabrication, or structural steel environments to play a key role in maintaining quality standards, ensuring compliance, and supporting successful project delivery across workshop and site operations.
The Role
Reporting to the HSQE Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance processes, conducting inspections and audits, maintaining quality documentation, and working closely with project teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure all work meets the required standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and document internal and external quality inspections and audits.
- Maintain accurate quality records including NCRs, technical reviews, audit reports, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and weld management documentation.
- Support the creation and implementation of quality assurance procedures and inspection programmes.
- Attend and contribute to quality and project coordination meetings.
- Manage and oversee Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) approvals across fabrication and construction activities.
- Carry out paint inspections and environmental compliance checks (training can be provided where required).
- Liaise with project management teams to ensure supplier audits, technical reviews, and quality documentation requirements are met.
- Assist in the preparation and management of Inspection & Test Plans in line with client specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Support the compilation of final quality dossiers and handover documentation.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and company procedures.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Inspection role within manufacturing, fabrication, or structural steel environments.
- Strong administration and record-keeping skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, and producing quality reports.
- Knowledge of welding standards including ISO 15614 and ISO 9606.
- Ability to interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings.
- Understanding of Weld Coordination activities and Weld Procedure Specifications.
- Familiarity with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) controls and quality processes.
- Knowledge of Structural Steel Fabrication standards including BS EN 1090 and BS EN ISO 3834.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships across multiple departments and stakeholders.
