We are recruiting for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager (QA Manager) to join a leading manufacturing business in Gainsborough.

This role would suit a Quality Manager, QA Manager, or Senior Quality professional with strong experience in BRCGS, ISO 9001, Quality Management Systems (QMS), audits, compliance, non-conformance management and continuous improvement.

 

The Role:

As QA Manager, you will lead the site Quality function, managing a team of Quality Co-ordinators and ensuring full compliance with product safety, customer standards, BRCGS and ISO 9001 requirements.

You will play a key role in reducing Cost of Quality (CoQ), minimising internal and external non-conformances (NCs), improving audit performance, and strengthening customer relationships.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Quality Assurance team.
  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure compliance with BRCGS, ISO 9001 and customer standards.
  • Manage internal rejects and non-conformance processes.
  • Oversee customer complaints, ensuring robust Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
  • Lead internal audits, traceability exercises and process audits.
  • Support and lead external audits from customers and accreditation bodies.
  • Manage supplier quality issues and supplier complaints.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives across site.
  • Conduct complaint trend analysis and implement preventative actions.
  • Support operational departments with quality and compliance matters.
  • Deputise for senior quality leadership when required.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a Quality Manager / QA Manager within manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of BRCGS and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Experience managing audits (internal & external).
  • Strong understanding of non-conformance management and corrective action processes.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
  • Excellent document control and quality systems management.
  • Strong IT skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ERP systems.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop a quality team.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, hands-on approach.
