2fawcett Recruitment are recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual looking to develop within purchasing and supply chain.

Working as part of a busy procurement team, you will play a key role in ensuring materials are ordered efficiently, supplier relationships are maintained, and production has everything required to meet customer demand.

The Role

As a Purchasing Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Raising and processing purchase orders accurately.
• Monitoring supplier order acknowledgements and delivery schedules.
• Chasing suppliers to ensure materials are delivered on time.
• Updating ERP/MRP systems with accurate purchasing information.
• Supporting the Purchasing Manager with supplier performance and cost-saving initiatives.
• Monitoring stock levels and assisting with inventory planning.
• Resolving supplier queries relating to deliveries, pricing and invoices.
• Liaising with Production, Planning, Stores and Finance to ensure smooth material flow.
• Assisting with sourcing new suppliers where required.
• Maintaining accurate purchasing records and documentation.
• Producing reports and KPI information for the procurement team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience within a Purchasing Assistant, Procurement Assistant, Supply Chain Assistant or Buying Administration role.
• Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and confidence building relationships with suppliers.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and general IT skills.
• The ability to prioritise workload and work within a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
