We are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant to join a growing and fast-paced business based in Rotherham. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented individual looking to develop their career within purchasing and supply chain operations.

Working closely with the procurement and operations teams, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day purchasing function, ensuring materials, products and supplies are ordered efficiently and delivered on time.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raising and processing purchase orders.
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times and deliveries.
  • Monitoring stock levels and supporting inventory management.
  • Chasing outstanding orders and updating internal systems.
  • Supporting invoice queries and supplier documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate purchasing records and databases.
  • Assisting with general administration within the procurement department.
  • Working closely with warehouse, finance and operations teams.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous administration or purchasing experience preferred.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
  • Proactive and willing to learn.
  • Experience within manufacturing, logistics, supply chain or procurement environments would be advantageous.
