This is a brilliant opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives on building high-performing teams, improving operations, and making a genuine impact within a well-established yet rapidly evolving company.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor production metrics and ensure departmental KPIs are met through effective planning, coaching, and resource allocation.
  • Implement and maintain high standards of health & safety, housekeeping, and compliance across the production area.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement, streamline processes, and support operational efficiency projects.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to contribute to strategic planning, workforce development, and operational growth.
  • Support succession planning by working alongside the current manager ahead of their retirement in October, allowing for a smooth transition.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a production leadership or management role within a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Ideally educated to HNC level or higher in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Able to read technical documentation and oversee both manual and machine-led production work.
  • Experience with Lean principles or continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of £45,000–£50,000 per annum (based on experience).
  • Paid overtime and bonus potential.
  • Excellent pension scheme and generous holiday allowance.
  • Supportive onboarding and crossover period with the outgoing manager.
  • Stable, full-time, permanent position in a company with ambitious growth plans.
  • Clear progression opportunities in a culture that values development, innovation, and operational excellence.
