2 Fawcett recruitment are recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Planner to join a global leader in the defence, aerospace, and automotive industries. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of materials critical to the company’s operations. The Procurement Planner will work closely with production, logistics, and suppliers to maintain optimal inventory levels and prevent disruptions in the supply chain.

Job Description

Responsible for managing and controlling the procurement of goods,, ensuring compliance with the company’s technical and quality standards. This role is ideally suited for candidates with experience in supply chain management, particularly within the defence, aerospace, or automotive sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, manage and oversea purchase order process with the suppliers to eliminate inaccurate data being recorded.

Work with the technical team to implement processes that will revise and improve the reporting process

Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and minimize production disruptions.

Identify material shortages and expedite orders to ensure

Liaise with planning to allocate materials.

Build and maintain a robust supplier database.

Collaborate with all departments for procurement-related matters.

Work closely with inventory controllers and finance to ensure accurate stock levels and budget adherence.

Analyse the data and work with the team to implement their MRP system into the department.

About you

Proven experience in procurement or supply chain Analytical role within a field similar to metals manufacturing, defence, aerospace, or automotive industries.

Proficiency in ERP systems; experience in Systems Implementation is an advantage.

Strong Analytical skills

Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) (desirable, but not essential).

A good understanding of manufacturing or engineering.

Professional, results-driven, and capable of working under pressure.

Additional Information

Hours (Monday – Thursday) 8am – 4pm    (Friday) 8am-1pm

33 days holiday (including Bank Holidays).

Life Assurance / Death in Service.

Pay: upto £35,000 per year
