The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially focused Procurement Manager to take end-to-end responsibility for procurement and supply chain activity across both UK and international operations.

This is a senior leadership role with real influence, responsible for ensuring continuity of supply, driving cost efficiency, managing supplier performance, and maintaining compliance across import/export activity. The role supports both manufacturing and distribution functions and works closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute a robust procurement and supply chain strategy aligned with wider business goals.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate procurement and import/export teams.
  • Establish and maintain strong long-term relationships with UK and overseas suppliers.
  • Negotiate complex, high-value contracts and long-term supply agreements.
  • Ensure uninterrupted supply to support manufacturing and nationwide distribution.
  • Oversee all import and export operations, including customs documentation and compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risk, market volatility, and regulatory changes.
  • Deliver cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across operations, finance, sales, and leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and procurement governance.

 

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Extensive experience in a senior procurement or supply chain leadership role.
  • Background within manufacturing, distribution, or similar operational environments.
  • Strong track record of international sourcing and import/export management.
  • In-depth understanding of customs regulations, incoterms, and global trade compliance.
  • Proven expertise in strategic sourcing and contract negotiation.
  • Confident people leader with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Commercially minded, analytical, and data-driven in decision making.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP or similar).
