The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially focused Procurement Manager to take end-to-end responsibility for procurement and supply chain activity across both UK and international operations.
This is a senior leadership role with real influence, responsible for ensuring continuity of supply, driving cost efficiency, managing supplier performance, and maintaining compliance across import/export activity. The role supports both manufacturing and distribution functions and works closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute a robust procurement and supply chain strategy aligned with wider business goals.
- Lead, develop, and motivate procurement and import/export teams.
- Establish and maintain strong long-term relationships with UK and overseas suppliers.
- Negotiate complex, high-value contracts and long-term supply agreements.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply to support manufacturing and nationwide distribution.
- Oversee all import and export operations, including customs documentation and compliance.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risk, market volatility, and regulatory changes.
- Deliver cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across operations, finance, sales, and leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and procurement governance.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Extensive experience in a senior procurement or supply chain leadership role.
- Background within manufacturing, distribution, or similar operational environments.
- Strong track record of international sourcing and import/export management.
- In-depth understanding of customs regulations, incoterms, and global trade compliance.
- Proven expertise in strategic sourcing and contract negotiation.
- Confident people leader with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Commercially minded, analytical, and data-driven in decision making.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP or similar).
