About the Opportunity

2fawcett Infrastructure are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading provider of energy and infrastructure services across the UK.

Our client delivers end-to-end solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV infrastructure, metering, and home energy projects, helping power the transition to a more sustainable future.

Within their Electricity Transmission division, they design, build, and commission high-voltage substations and overhead line networks up to 400kV, ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electricity nationwide.

The company is a trusted partner on major UK transmission frameworks, supporting a variety of projects that strengthen and modernise the UK’s energy grid over the coming decade.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Overhead Linesperson, you’ll work on the erection, refurbishment, and maintenance of high-voltage overhead transmission lines across the UK.

Key responsibilities include:

• Erecting and reconductoring new and existing overhead power lines up to 400kV in line with safety and industry standards
• Performing climbing, rigging, and associated tasks to support the erection and dismantling of overhead line equipment
• Installing and replacing steelwork, insulators, and conductors
• Conducting routine maintenance on existing transmission assets
• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and environmental regulations at all times
• Participating in ongoing training and competency development for overhead line operations
• Taking ownership for the safety of yourself, your team, and site colleagues

What You’ll Bring

• Demonstrable experience working on high-voltage overhead line systems (132kV–400kV)
• Valid client authorisations (e.g. National Grid, SPEN, NGED, or SSE)
• Proven working-at-height competence
• Experience with a variety of tower configurations, conductor types, and fittings
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to work across multiple UK sites
• Willingness to travel and stay away as project needs require
