Location: East Midlands (Hybrid, with Nationwide Travel)
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + Car or Allowance + Bonus

 

An established and growing civil engineering and construction contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to support the delivery of multiple projects across the UK.

This is a senior operational role offering autonomy, responsibility and long-term progression within a stable business.

 

The Role:

Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion. This includes planning resources, managing site teams, ensuring compliance and maintaining strong client relationships.

You will play a key role in driving performance, improving processes and supporting the development of operational staff.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee delivery of multiple projects to programme and budget.
  • Manage site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure health & safety standards are met across all projects.
  • Maintain quality and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Support tendering and work-winning activities.
  • Attend client and internal meetings.
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff.
  • Produce operational and technical reports.

 

About You:

  • Proven experience in an operational management role within civils or construction.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Sound understanding of health & safety and quality standards.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to travel nationally and work flexible hours when required.

 

Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Background in civils, construction, infrastructure or related sectors.
  • Experience managing site-based teams and subcontractors.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, scopes and technical documentation.
