Location: East Midlands (Hybrid, with Nationwide Travel)
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + Car or Allowance + Bonus
An established and growing civil engineering and construction contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to support the delivery of multiple projects across the UK.
This is a senior operational role offering autonomy, responsibility and long-term progression within a stable business.
The Role:
Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion. This includes planning resources, managing site teams, ensuring compliance and maintaining strong client relationships.
You will play a key role in driving performance, improving processes and supporting the development of operational staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee delivery of multiple projects to programme and budget.
- Manage site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure health & safety standards are met across all projects.
- Maintain quality and compliance requirements.
- Monitor operational KPIs and performance metrics.
- Support tendering and work-winning activities.
- Attend client and internal meetings.
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff.
- Produce operational and technical reports.
About You:
- Proven experience in an operational management role within civils or construction.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Sound understanding of health & safety and quality standards.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to travel nationally and work flexible hours when required.
Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Background in civils, construction, infrastructure or related sectors.
- Experience managing site-based teams and subcontractors.
- Ability to interpret drawings, scopes and technical documentation.
