Where will you be working?
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading provider of full end-to-end energy infrastructure solutions across:
- Electricity transmission
- Electricity distribution
- Renewable energy
- EV
- Metering
- Home decarbonisation
This role sits within their Transmission & Renewables team, responsible for designing, building and commissioning substations up to 400kV, as well as constructing and maintaining high-voltage transmission infrastructure across the UK.
You will be supporting major transmission overhead line projects for SSE Scotland, working closely with engineering and site delivery teams.
What will you be doing?
We are looking for a confident, commercially strong Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activities across high-profile transmission overhead line projects.
In this role, you will:
- Take full commercial responsibility across SSE & SPEN sites
- Manage subcontractor packages, valuations, variations and final accounts
- Prepare clear, accurate claims, commercial reports and forecasts
- Monitor project financial performance, risks and commercial exposure
- Ensure documentation, reporting and cost recovery opportunities are watertight
- Work closely with engineering, planning and finance teams to keep delivery on track
- Identify delays, risks and commercial opportunities
- Ensure commercial activities align with health, safety, quality and environmental standards

What you’ll bring:
- Strong experience as a Quantity Surveyor in infrastructure, utilities or energy
- Excellent working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts
- Strong commercial strategy, negotiation and communication skills
- Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying (degree or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence
