2fawcett are recruiting for a management accountant, to join a professional services company located in Leicester on a permanent basis. This is a pivotal role for the business and they’re looking for an ambitious candidate with a hands-on approach to come in and hit the ground running.

 

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

The Role & Responsibilities of the Management Accountant:

  • Monthly Management Accounts: Manage the month-end process to ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and robust balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Weekly P&Ls: Prepare and analyse weekly P&Ls for the business, investigating and communicating variances and trends to the operations team.
  • Financial Insights: Offer key financial and commercial insights to support business decisions.
  • Balance Sheet & Bank Reconciliation: Prepare and review balance sheet account & bank reconciliations, addressing reconciling items promptly.
  • Budgeting and Planning: Support the budgeting and planning cycles, providing critical financial data and analysis.
  • Risk Management: Regularly discuss risks and opportunities with the Finance Director, taking a proactive approach to resolve any issues.
  • Cash Flow Forecasting: Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts to support strategic decision-making and ensure financial stability.
  • Invoice Finance Management: Oversee invoice finance processes, ensuring accurate reconciliations and effective management.
  • VAT Compliance: Assist in preparing and submitting VAT returns, maintaining compliance with regulations.
  • Month-End Support: Play a key role in month-end processes, ensuring accurate reporting and smooth operations.

Requirements of the Management Accountant

  • High level of numeracy and IT literate.
  • Relevant management accounting experience, AAT qualification is a bonus.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial management principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills are crucial for maintaining accurate records.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders across the organisation.
