2Fawcett Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for skilled and dedicated Maintenance Fitters to join their team, providing services to utilities and engineering clients. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering a complete, reliable maintenance service, including nitrogen purging, tank cleaning, and preventative maintenance. This permanent role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience in maintenance within industrial or engineering environments. Company van, tools, and accommodation for overnight work are provided.

Duties

  • Deliver a wide range of maintenance and fitting services for utilities and engineering clients, including nitrogen purging, tank cleaning, and preventative maintenance
  • Perform bespoke, client-specific tasks, providing advice and tailored solutions where required
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair systems to ensure safety, compliance, and reliability
  • Travel to various sites, working safely in confined spaces and at heights, adhering to health and safety protocols
  • Maintain accurate job records, reports, and documentation while delivering a professional, reliable service

Experience / Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter or similar role
  • Valid Confined Spaces certification
  • CSCS Card
  • Comfortable working at heights and in varied industrial environments
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues and maintain systems effectively
  • Experience in providing bespoke solutions or working directly with clients is desirable
  • Full UK driving licence

Benefits

  • £15–£17.50 per hour, depending on experience
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x after 37.5 hours
  • Permanent contract with long-term work in Birmingham and surrounding areas
  • Company van and tools provided, van can be taken home
  • Accommodation covered for overnight stays (single occupancy)
