We are seeking an experienced Machinist Engineer to join a well-established aerospace and engineering company based in Mansfield. If you have a strong background in CNC machining, particularly with Mazak and Yamazaki machines, and are passionate about high-precision manufacturing, this is an excellent opportunity to join a leading team in the aerospace sector.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines (Mazak and Yamazaki) to manufacture aerospace components
- Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models to create accurate, high-precision parts
- Perform various machining tasks, including turning, milling, threading, and drilling, with a focus on quality
- Carry out quality control checks using precision measuring instruments such as micrometres, callipers, and gauges
- Troubleshoot and resolve any machine or tooling-related issues to minimize downtime in production
- Maintain and ensure machinery is running optimally
- Collaborate with design and production teams to improve machining processes and efficiencies
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe working environment
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Machinist Engineer, preferably in the aerospace or engineering industry
- Strong knowledge and experience with Mazak and Yamazaki CNC machines
- Proficiency in CNC turning, milling, and general machining techniques
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models
- Skilled in using a variety of precision measuring tools and instruments
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in the aerospace or similar precision engineering fields is preferred
