We are seeking an experienced Machinist Engineer to join a well-established aerospace and engineering company based in Mansfield. If you have a strong background in CNC machining, particularly with Mazak and Yamazaki machines, and are passionate about high-precision manufacturing, this is an excellent opportunity to join a leading team in the aerospace sector.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines (Mazak and Yamazaki) to manufacture aerospace components
  • Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models to create accurate, high-precision parts
  • Perform various machining tasks, including turning, milling, threading, and drilling, with a focus on quality
  • Carry out quality control checks using precision measuring instruments such as micrometres, callipers, and gauges
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any machine or tooling-related issues to minimize downtime in production
  • Maintain and ensure machinery is running optimally
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to improve machining processes and efficiencies
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe working environment

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Machinist Engineer, preferably in the aerospace or engineering industry
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Mazak and Yamazaki CNC machines
  • Proficiency in CNC turning, milling, and general machining techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models
  • Skilled in using a variety of precision measuring tools and instruments
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in the aerospace or similar precision engineering fields is preferred
