About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Operative to join a busy and growing logistics team at a UK-based manufacturing site supplying major food and industrial sectors. This role is key to ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of site logistics, including the handling, movement, and documentation of materials and finished products.

The successful candidate will be hands-on, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Loading and unloading incoming and outgoing deliveries using forklift trucks (reach and counterbalance) and telehandler
  • Loading and unloading tankers carrying powder and liquid products, including ADR materials
  • Liaising with drivers to ensure loading and unloading schedules are met
  • Moving materials and goods around site and to off-site storage locations
  • Decanting and batching products in line with operational requirements
  • Collecting samples of incoming materials and finished products for testing
  • Completing all associated paperwork and documentation accurately
  • Supporting stock taking activities
  • Working closely with the production team on process control and product quality
  • Carrying out all duties in line with health & safety regulations and site procedures
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties as required

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • Previous experience in a logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing environment
  • Valid FLT licence (issued within the last 3 years)
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with good numeracy and literacy
  • Basic IT skills, including data entry using Microsoft Office
  • Awareness of chemical handling (desirable)
  • Knowledge of ISO systems (advantageous)
