About the Role:

An established and growing logistics business is looking to recruit an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join its operations team in Uttoxeter. This role sits at the heart of the transport function, supporting daily planning activity, maintaining service levels and ensuring freight moves efficiently across the UK.

The role would suit someone with strong transport knowledge who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering a reliable, customer-focused service.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, resource and allocate loads on a daily basis.
  • Ensure collections and deliveries are scheduled and completed in line with customer expectations.
  • Proactively identify additional freight opportunities using industry platforms.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with customers and subcontract hauliers.
  • Ensure consistent vehicle availability through regular communication with the haulier base.
  • Monitor delivery performance and manage delays, keeping all parties informed.
  • Work towards operational KPIs and performance targets.
  • Ensure all data is accurate and up to date within the transport management system.
  • Participate in an on-call rota on a rotational basis.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience within logistics, transport coordination or planning (minimum 1 year preferred).
  • Confident PC user with experience of Microsoft Office and transport management systems.
  • Strong understanding of driver’s hours, vehicle legislation and the Working Time Directive.
  • Good knowledge of the UK transport and general haulage market.
  • Strong UK geographical awareness.
  • Excellent communication and telephone skills.
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities.

 

Additional Information:

  • Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Hinckley or be willing to relocate prior to starting.
