Overview and Initial Information:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a long-standing, fast-paced manufacturing business as their new Logistics Area Manager, reporting directly to the Head of Supply Chain. This role plays a key part in driving logistical efficiency, overseeing multiple team leads, and ensuring effective stock movement across the operation.

You’ll manage day-to-day logistics activity, performance, planning, and compliance, while acting as a central point between transport, scheduling, and external partners.

 

About You:

We’re looking for someone with strong leadership capability in a logistics setting— an FMCG or manufacturing background would be the ideal fit. You should be confident managing multiple team leads, maintaining external relationships, and handling the full cycle of logistics performance, compliance, and planning.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee performance of the logistics team and team leads
  • Manage delivery planning, stock movement, and customer service issues
  • Support Schedulers and respond to incidents when required
  • Monitor haulier performance and manage relationships
  • Conduct internal audits and support external audit requirements
  • Liaise with maintenance and production teams daily
  • Review production forecasts and monthly figures
  • Approve logistics-related invoices and manage departmental budgets
  • Ensure all Health & Safety responsibilities are upheld across the logistics area
