We are currently recruiting for an experienced Indirect Buyer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Huddersfield.

This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional to take ownership of assigned commodity groups, manage supplier relationships, and support strategic sourcing activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing supplier relationships and performance.
• Leading negotiations and cost reduction initiatives.
• Raising RFQs and purchase orders.
• Monitoring procurement KPIs and supply chain risks.
• Supporting inventory management and continuity of supply.
• Working closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Planning teams.
• Identifying continuous improvement opportunities across procurement activities.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in indirect purchasing or commodity buying.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
• Excellent organisational and analytical abilities.
• A proactive and commercially aware mindset.
• CIPS level 4 qualification or working towards.

Desirable:

• Engineering or manufacturing background.
• Knowledge of supplier quality investigations.
• Aerospace or defence sector experience.
