HR Administrator / HR Advisor
Chesterfield
Salary: £30,000 – £38,000 (depending on experience)
Full-time | Hybrid working available

The Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a confidential client for a hands-on HR Administrator / HR Advisor to support the day-to-day running of the HR function.

This is a busy and varied role suited to someone who enjoys the administrative side of HR, is highly organised, and confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

You will play a key role in supporting the employee lifecycle, maintaining HR systems and records, coordinating recruitment activity, and ensuring HR processes are completed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a first point of contact for HR-related queries
  • Support the full employee lifecycle including onboarding, contracts, and employee record management
  • Prepare contracts of employment, offer letters, and HR documentation
  • Maintain and update HR systems and employee files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Coordinate recruitment activity including advertising roles, arranging interviews, and liaising with hiring managers
  • Support onboarding and induction processes for new starters
  • Assist with training administration and maintaining training records
  • Support absence management processes and associated administration
  • Produce HR, recruitment, and training reports
  • Ensure HR documentation and processes remain compliant and up to date
  • Provide administrative support across all areas of HR
  • Build strong working relationships with managers and employees across the business

About You

  • Previous experience within a HR Administrator, HR Coordinator, or HR Advisor role
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident using HR systems and Microsoft Office
  • Able to manage workload effectively and prioritise tasks
  • Strong communication skills and a professional approach
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to handle confidential information appropriately
  • CIPD qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous but is not essential
