2fawcett Recruitment is partnering with a leading engineering client in Derby to recruit a Graduate Electrical Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to join a dynamic engineering team and develop their skills on real-world projects in sectors such as energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure.

You’ll work closely with experienced engineers, gaining practical experience and contributing to innovative electrical designs and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of electrical systems and components
  • Create electrical schematics, layouts, and technical documentation
  • Support project engineers with calculations, testing, and commissioning
  • Participate in site visits and client meetings as required
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality projects

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Understanding of core electrical principles and engineering fundamentals
  • Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar (desirable)
  • Knowledge of UK standards (e.g., BS 7671) is advantageous
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Team-oriented and proactive approach
  • Full right to work in the UK
