Overview:

2fawcett are recruiting for a Freight Operator to join our client based in Burton on a full time, permanent basis. As the Freight Operator, you will provide solutions using the company network that match the Operational expectations of clients and their requirements.

 

Responsibilities of the Freight Operator:

  • To receive customer orders via different means including telephone, email, and customer specific transport portals.
  • To accurately create orders via internal operating system.
  • Match the order to a resource solution using network of Transport Suppliers through utilisation of supplier selection rules.
  • Communicate in a timely and professional manner the schedule for collection and delivery, paying special attention to specific requirements.
  • Monitor onsite safety requirements, driver PPE, transit time, ADR requirements and security procedures.
  • Report and non-conformance to the Operations Manager.
  • To provide bespoke key performance indictors to the specific clients.
  • Monitor the profitability of the activity in conjunction with the operations manager.
  • To attend client meetings upon request and agreement of the UK Director.

Requirements of the Freight Operator:

  • Previous experience within a similar role essential.
  • Strong Transport / Freight background.
  • Knowledge of supplier network advantageous.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Strong, effective communicator.
  • Good IT skills including Excel.
