Job Title: Finance Manager

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 depending on experience.

Location: Burton on Trent, DE13

Benefits: 28 days including bank holidays, free on-site car parking, potential flexibility to work from home once fully trained

Type: Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract, office-based

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 9am-5pm

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts / Finance Manager to join our client based in Burton upon Trent on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established business, working as part of a supportive and friendly team environment. This is a hands-on Finance Manager role with full responsibility for the end-to-end finance function, playing a key role in driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Full responsibility for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Preparation and reconciliation of the General Ledger
  • Production of monthly Management Accounts
  • Departmental month-end analysis and reporting
  • Budget preparation and monitoring
  • Supporting the business in achieving financial objectives
  • Management and control of fixed assets
  • Leading month-end and year-end processes
  • Processing and overseeing payment runs
  • Monitoring and forecasting cash flow
  • Managing payroll
  • Liaising with HMRC and submitting VAT returns
  • Monitoring and analysing financial data to produce accurate reports and statements
  • Managing and completing the annual audit process
  • Coordinating selected business events
  • Supporting with additional ad-hoc finance and administrative duties as required

Experience

  • Proven experience working as an Accounts Manager or Finance Manager
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamic Business Central, Microsoft Excel, Sage 50
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • High level of accuracy with excellent attention to detail
  • A formal accounting qualification in AAT, CIMA or equivalent is highly desirable, but we welcome candidates qualified by experience to apply.
