Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (half an hour lunch break), Monday to Friday. Some flexibility can be offered, including the option to start earlier if required.
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Manager to join our clients finance team in Bolsover. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, ideally you would of worked previously in a fast-moving logistics environment.
This is a new and pivotal role within the business. You will manage all aspects of the finance function, streamline internal processes, and support strategic business decisions. The role is key to driving financial performance and contributing to the company’s continued success.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day finance activities, including reporting, cash flow oversight, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations, including VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE, and Companies House submissions.
- Coordinate the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors and financial advisors.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic business decisions.
- Maintain robust internal controls and continuously improve financial processes and systems.
- Deliver regular financial reports and presentations to senior leadership.
- Oversee payroll function, whether handled internally or via external providers.
- Assess and mitigate financial risks affecting the business.
- Lead finance-related projects, including system implementations and upgrades.
- Support commercial strategy through financial modelling, scenario planning, and business case preparation.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in financial management, with a solid understanding of financial accounting principles.
- Experience working in SMEs; a logistics background would be advantageous.
- Skilled in producing statutory accounts and managing audit processes.
- Demonstrated ability to produce accurate and timely financial reports.
- Experience with Xero is highly desirable, though not essential.
- Strong analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a finance team.
- Commercially aware, capable of supporting both strategic and operational decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, able to present complex financial information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
