2fawcett are delighted to be supporting a long-established, award-winning business in Alfreton, who are on the lookout for a Finance Manager to take the reins of their finance function.

You’ll play a central role in managing and developing the finance function, working with a supportive team in a business that still holds its family-run values at heart.
The Role & Responsibilities of the Finance Manager
- Manage the company’s full finance function, overseeing both the day-to-day and strategic finance tasks
• Lead and develop the finance team, supporting across purchase ledger, management accounts and payroll
• Produce monthly management accounts, prepare accruals, prepayments, journals, VAT returns, and KPI reporting
• Take responsibility for credit control – ensuring effective debt management, risk assessment, and customer account maintenance
• Oversee and process payroll, ensuring full compliance with all legislation and accurate reporting
• Maintain the integrity of the SAGE 200 system – including nominal code set-up and ledger maintenance
• Cash flow management and daily/weekly cashing-up
• Bank and credit card reconciliations
• Support internal and external audits, government statistical surveys, and ad-hoc reporting requests
• Work closely with stakeholders to provide financial insight, improve processes, and support ongoing business success
Requirements of the Finance Manager
- Previous experience in a similar finance leadership role
• Strong working knowledge of SAGE 200
• Excellent understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger, and credit control
• Solid experience of payroll processing and pension contributions
• Confident managing cash flow and producing management accounts
• Advanced Excel and data reporting skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Hands-on attitude, adaptable, and solution-focused
