2fawcett Infrastructure are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading UK provider of energy and infrastructure services.
Operating across electricity transmission and distribution, renewable generation, EV infrastructure, smart metering, and home energy solutions, they deliver projects that enable the UK’s transition to a sustainable, low-carbon future.
This position sits within the Electric Vehicle (EV) division, where the team delivers large-scale EV charging infrastructure projects. From planning and estimating through to installation, they ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable delivery that supports the UK’s growing EV network.
What you’ll be doing
Are you an experienced Estimator looking to make an impact in the renewable and low-carbon energy sector?
You’ll be responsible for evaluating tender opportunities, assessing project risks, and preparing accurate cost estimates for major EV infrastructure schemes. Working closely with commercial, design, and delivery teams, you’ll help secure new projects and ensure each bid is commercially sound and technically robust.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing tender documentation and contributing to bid/no-bid decisions
- Preparing Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and detailed pricing from first principles
- Assessing project risks, value opportunities, and resource requirements
- Supporting the preparation of tender submissions and post-tender presentations
- Ensuring tender documents are complete, accurate, and compliant
- Collaborating with technical and project management teams to identify efficiencies
- Helping to drive improvement and consistency across estimating processes

What you’ll bring
- Proven experience in estimating within civil or electrical engineering environments
- Strong background in capital project delivery
- Solid understanding of electrical and civil construction methods
- Familiarity with National Grid and DNO standards
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Good working knowledge of NEC, ICE, and JCT contract forms
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to influence outcomes
- Organised, detail-driven, and capable of managing multiple tenders simultaneously
