Electrical Compliance Team Leader
Permanent Role
Location: Peterborough (with UK-wide travel, up to 3 days per week)
Salary: Up to £47,000pa
Hours: 40 hours per week

Are you an electrically-biased engineer ready to step into leadership—or already leading a small team and looking for a bigger challenge? This growing compliance team, established just 12 months ago and already expanding rapidly, is looking for a strong people-focused leader to guide a skilled group of engineers delivering complex electrical safety and compliance projects.
The successful candidate would be joining a business with major growth plans and a diverse UK client base across manufacturing, food, pharmaceutical, and industrial environments. The role offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to shape a developing team.

The Role

  • You will lead a team of compliance engineers working on electrical installation and machinery safety projects. Typical work includes:
  • Electrical control system and safety-related installations
  • Electrical panel assessments, remedials, and modifications
  • Installation of cabling and containment systems
  • ATEX area installations, inspections, and asset remedials
  • Supporting project delivery, documentation, and commissioning
  • Projects are varied—recent examples include switchgear upgrades and safety enhancements on CNC machinery—and are delivered across the UK, with travel covered and a company vehicle provided.
  • This is not a heavily hands-on technical role; the team is experienced and self-sufficient. What matters most is your ability to lead confidently, delegate effectively, manage resources, and maintain strong communication with senior management.

    Key Responsibilitie

  • Lead and support a team delivering electrical compliance installation projects
  • Oversee installation quality, timelines, mobilisation and site readiness
  • Ensure documentation, testing, and commissioning standards are met
  • Work alongside engineers across multiple disciplines
  • Contribute to ongoing growth and development of the compliance function

The Candidate

  • Essential:
  • Eligibility to work in the UK, no sponsorship is available
  • Electrical bias with experience in industrial/manufacturing environments
  • Strong leadership ability—either as an existing team leader or someone ready to step up
  • Understanding of safety circuits, control systems, and high-standard compliance work
  • Able to travel across the UK (typically 2–3 nights per week)
  • Based within approx. one hour of Peterborough
  • Desirable (training can be provided):
  • C&G 2391-52 Testing & Inspection
  • CompEx 01–06 / ATEX experience
  • Machinery safety knowledge (PUWER, SIL, PLr)
  • PLC/control wiring familiarity
  • Experience within food, beverage, or pharmaceutical environments—where attention to detail is critical—would be highly beneficial.
