Compliance Team Leader – Electrical

Salary: £47,000 – £50,000

About the Role

An established, independently owned provider of building, engineering and facilities support services is seeking an experienced Compliance Team Leader (Electrical) to join its growing compliance division.

This role focuses on delivering electrical compliance and installation projects within industrial and manufacturing environments across the UK. Typical projects include machinery safety upgrades, electrical control panel modifications, hazardous area (ATEX) installations, and compliance inspections and remedial works.

You will lead a small, highly skilled team, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high technical standard. Projects often involve collaboration with multi-discipline engineering teams to provide fully compliant solutions for both new and existing assets.

This position would suit an experienced industrial controls electrician who enjoys leading people, taking ownership of projects, and maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Technical Delivery

  • Supervise and lead a team of electrical compliance engineers
  • Deliver high-quality electrical installation and compliance works across multiple sites
  • Act as the technical point of contact on-site for compliance-related activities

Electrical & Compliance Works

  • Installation of automation, control, and safety-related electrical systems
  • Electrical cabling and containment installation
  • Electrical control panel inspections, assessments, and remedial works
  • Electrical testing of new and existing installations
  • Electrical installation and inspection work within designated ATEX environments
  • ATEX asset inspections and corrective actions

Project Support

  • Support the Project Manager with mobilisation and scope understanding
  • Ensure installation programmes and deadlines are met
  • Oversee quality control and commissioning activities
  • Assist with technical reports, documentation, and compliance records
  • Liaise with engineers from other disciplines as required

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience leading electrical installation teams in industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Strong background in electrical installations, cabling, and containment systems
  • Ability to read and work from wiring diagrams, termination drawings, and schematics
  • Experience building, modifying, or working within automation and control panels
  • Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality

Desirable (Training Available)

  • PLC control wiring, instrumentation, and motor control systems
  • Knowledge of machinery safety standards and electrical control compliance
  • Experience working in hazardous (ATEX) areas
  • Understanding of safety circuits, SIL and PLr ratings
  • Electrical testing experience (C&G 2391-52)

Qualifications

Preferred

  • Electrical qualification: BTEC and/or NVQ Level 3
  • AM2
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
