Overview

2fawcett are recruiting for a Buyer / Senior Purchasing Coordinator to join a leading manufacturing business based in Leicester on a permanent basis.

This organisation has an excellent reputation within its sector and offers a supportive, collaborative working environment. You will join a well-established purchasing and planning team, playing a key role in ensuring materials are sourced efficiently to meet production demands.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in purchasing, procurement, or material planning who is looking to take the next step in their career.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance to ensure consistent supply of materials.
  • Review and action MRP outputs to maintain optimal stock levels and meet production demand.
  • Oversee the full purchase order lifecycle, from creation through to delivery.
  • Coordinate the import of goods from overseas suppliers, including airfreight shipments.
  • Ensure supplier quality standards are met, working closely with internal teams.
  • Schedule deliveries in line with production plans, expediting or delaying orders where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate supplier pricing and item data within the ERP system.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across purchasing and supply chain processes.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of supply chain and purchasing processes.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Knowledge of MRP and ERP systems.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build relationships.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to drive improvements and change.
