Overview

2fawcett are recruiting for a Buyer to join a successful and growing business based in Stoke-on-Trent on a permanent basis.

Due to continued expansion, our client is looking for a proactive and organised Buyer (or Procurement Coordinator) to take ownership of procurement, goods-in processes, and stock control systems. This role will support both stock items and bespoke, job-specific components across multiple product lines, working closely with manufacturing to ensure materials are available to meet production demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage purchasing activities and maintain effective stock control
  • Operate and maintain workshop stores and inventory systems
  • Monitor and manage consignment stock levels
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery performance
  • Oversee goods-in processes, including invoice matching and accuracy checks
  • Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), coordinating with production and finance teams
  • Research and source alternative suppliers to improve cost, quality, and reliability
  • Manage returns processes and ensure timely resolution
  • Support quality control across procurement, goods-in, and returns
  • Coordinate customer deliveries and produce delivery documentation
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency, cost control, and supply chain performance
  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of a Vendor Rating System
