2fawcett Recruitment are currently seeking a Bookkeeper to join a well-established business based in Rugby on a full-time basis. This is a great opportunity to join a growing finance team in a varied accounts role, supporting the Finance Director with core bookkeeping duties and to support the day-to-day running of their finance function.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase and sales invoices and staff expenses.
  • Maintain accurate ledgers and accounting records.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier payments.
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and petty cash accounts.
  • Support month-end processes, including journals and reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed asset register and assist with reporting.
  • Assist with preparing/submitting VAT returns and audit preparation.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries.
  • Assist with payroll tasks (timesheets, starters, leavers).
  • Provide ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis.

Requirements:

  • Experience working within a varied accounts/ bookkeeping role is essential.
  • Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of key areas of the finance function.
  • Familiar with accounting software.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas).
  • Comfortable working to deadlines, able to prioritise effectively, and adjust quickly to changing priorities and urgent tasks.
  • Able to work independently and manage day-to-day finance tasks effectively.
