2fawcett Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper to join an established, family-run SME in Leicester. This is a varied and busy role so we are looking for someone who can manage multiple workloads and is willing to support the wider business as needed.
This role would also suit someone who has been an Accounts Manager.

Responsibilities:
- Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Performing bank and supplier statement reconciliations.
- Assisting with preparation of monthly payment runs.
- Maintaining the purchase and sales ledger.
- Managing and resolving invoice queries with suppliers and internal teams.
- Posting journals, accruals, and prepayments.
- Supporting with month-end and year-end closing tasks.
- Preparing VAT returns.
- Liaising with external accountant.
- Monitoring and reconciling company credit cards and staff expenses.
- Filing and maintaining accurate financial records.
Skills/Experience:
- Experience working as an accounts assistant, accounts manager or a bookkeeper.
- Proficient with Sage 50.
- Comfortable with preparing VAT returns.
- Relevant Industry Background: Experience working in vehicle rental, repair garage, or import/export environments is highly desirable.
- You will have a good understanding of accounting principles, be proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
